It's all about Volunteering...

As we come to the end of our operating season (last day on 1 January 2017), the Railway's elite Infrastructure Departments are poised to move in to make the most of the 'closed season', when a three month blockade will allow major track improvements to be pursued.

Planning for the first project, that of moving a complete point at Chinnor is now complete and we will see all the 'plant' in action across 3 intense weeks of work to deliver this demanding project, on time and on budget!

Not to rest on their laurels, the guys then move over to the running line to continue their major relaying project at Perry Lane, where life expired timber sleeper track is being replaced with concrete sleepers and new ballast.

These projects take much money and a huge amount of volunteer effort to deliver.

The Railway is committed to funding our ongoing improvement works, but we welcome new people into our volunteer teams to help deliver them: whatever your skills, you will meet some great people, have fun and know that your efforts will go towards keeping this gem of a railway operating smoothly.

Anyone interested in our Infrastructure teams, please drop Russ a mail to infrastructure@chinnorrailway.co.uk or for everything else, it's volunteersupport@chinnorrailway.co.uk. We look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your support.
