STOP PRESS - Steam Loco No. 5526 is 90 years old in May!

Built in Swindon in May 1928 as one of series of small ‘4575’ prairie steam engines, No. 5526 was used originally for local and suburban use. Saved from the breakers yard and lovingly refurbished, she is at Chinnor courtesy of the South Devon Railway for her 90th birthday, hauling all our steaming-day specials and services throughout 2018.

Make a booking in May and wish her Happy Birthday. Everything from the Teddy Bears Picnic, to Senior’s for a Fiver, indulgent afternoon cream teas and much more. Enjoy a steam hauled lazy trip through rural England throughout the year or treat yourself to a cab ride experience on board one of the best preserved small steam engines. Bookings for many events is essential and early booking is advisable. Check our event timetables for up to date information.
