Getting Here

Arriving by Car:

The railway is situated in Kiln Avenue, Chinnor, which is just off the B4009 (set your SatNav to OX39 4BZ). We are easy to reach by car: Junction 6 on the M40 is just 3 miles away and Princes Risborough is some 4 miles further along the B4009. Once you arrive in Chinnor village just follow the brown tourism signs displaying the steam locomotive to reach the railway.

There is car parking at Chinnor station together with a cycle rack. Please contact us at  to ask about our level access route to the trains.




Arriving by Bus:

Bus route No 40 is provided by Carousel Buses which runs at approximately hourly intervals between Thame and High Wycombe via Chinnor. The service is available on Mondays to Saturdays only (please note there is No Sunday service). Alight and re-join buses at Chinnor Village Hall, which is a 5-7 minute walk to Chinnor station.

Bus route No 275 is provided by Red Rose Travel which is a limited service between Oxford and High Wycombe via Chinnor. There are 3 services in each direction on Mondays to Fridays only (please note there is No Saturday or Sunday service). Alight and re-join buses at Chinnor Railway Station bus stop in Kiln Avenue, which is a short walk to Chinnor station.

Arriving by Train:

From London (Marylebone) or Birmingham (Snow Hill or Moor Street) by Chiltern Railways to Princes Risborough station. Then by taxi from Princes Risborough station which is 4 miles to Chinnor. Useful telephone numbers: Village Cars (located at Princes Risborough station) 01844 342551; alternatively Risborough Cars 01844 274111, B&V 01844 342079, Witchers 01844 344239, Chinnor 01844 353637. 

From London (Marylebone) or Birmingham (Snow Hill or Moor Street) by Chiltern Railways to High Wycombe station. Then walk to High Wycombe bus station (10 minutes) to catch the No 40 bus provided by Carousel Buses to Chinnor - approximately hourly interval services provided on Mondays to Saturdays only (but please note there is No Sunday service). Alight/join buses at Chinnor Village Hall, which is a 5-7 minute walk to Chinnor station.
