Unlike the image above which was taken in happier days, our Class 31 locomotive is in a sorry state and is out of use right now. It has numerous issues including a major failure within the air system, unusable doors and heavy cab corrosion. To put all these issues right we need to raise £25,000 for replacement parts, paints and so very much more (all the labour is, of course, undertaken by our volunteers!).
We really are desperate to see the locomotive operating once again and not only because it is a vital locomotive within our tractive stable, but it is also the only locomotive that we own and which actually operated on our picturesque line!
With your help and donations, we will be able to bring the locomotive back to its prime and give it a new lease of life. Ways to donate can be seen by clicking the donate tab below and should we raise more than the needed £25k, any left over monies will be used for future maintenance requirements to keep the loco running. You can see more about our restoration activities on our locomotive by visiting our blog.
