Our volunteers would again like to invite you and your friends and family to come along to Chinnor Railway Station and Princes Risborough Platform 4 between 10.00 and 15.00 hours on Saturday 2 June to see behind the scenes and see what the Railway offers our visitors and the local community.

Did you know that we are 100% volunteer run and there are no paid-staff at the Railway? It's also an opportunity for our visitors to perhaps think about how they could get involved in some way and when you talk with our existing volunteers, you'll find there's something for almost everyone!

Our friendly volunteers will be delighted to show you behind the scenes and answer all your questions:

Please visit the Welcome Marquee near the main entrance at Chinnor station to see displays on the Railway’s history and aims, its future hopes and plans for Aston Rowant, and to learn about volunteer opportunities. Please walk around our station and don’t forget to visit the Restoration and Engineering Centre and view our exhibits in the yard, plus you'll meet the volunteers who look after the trains and run the Railway. Take a free short ride down the line in our vintage diesel ‘bubblecar’, enjoy home-made cakes in the buffet or try a Real Ale in the bar, and browse for gifts and books in our shop. See what we do and be tempted to join in and help us keep this local Heritage Railway running!

If you are looking for something more to do on your visit then please take a look at our Stroll around Chinnor Village section and also to note it is Chinnor Open Gardens Weekend with interesting and varied private gardens to explore within the village. Chinnor Windmill is also open between 10.00 and 15.00 and is well worth taking a look - the restoration team are on hand and you can climb to the top of the 'mill and hear about their progress in bringing the windmill back to life!

We have limited free car parking at Chinnor railway station or s
ee our links to public transport and bus services section for services to/from Chinnor.

Go to Platform 4 which has been rebuilt on the far side of the station and is being made ready to receive our first passenger trains. See displays and chat to our volunteers who improve and maintain our track and who install and maintain our signals. View our resident diesel locomotive 08825 and the Coles Rail Crane. Visit the largest remaining Great Western signal box and see the restoration work in progress.

The car park at Princes Risborough station is owned and controlled by Chiltern Railways and normal charges apply.
