Sunday for Steam & Vintage Diesel

Steam locomotive No.6412 will be operating our train services on Sundays 7 & 14 May 2017 - please see below for departure times.

It could be a good time to visit the railway - as the trains are generally more lightly loaded before the summer holidays begin and there are plenty of seats available to spread out and enjoy the journey. See the foothills of the Chilterns spring to life as the landscape is now verdant and green: you might spot some of our local wildlife such as deer, and it is rather rare not to see the Red Kites whirling overhead.

All the while your steam locomotive is lazily billowing out steam past your window or the vintage diesel is growling its way along the line on the gentle 8-mile round-trip.

Our volunteers will be making their way through the train with an at-seat service of reasonably priced tea, coffee and light refreshments. We’re also serving Cream Teas in the Afternoon Tea Cars on 7 May.

Your travel tickets are valid all day long and you can travel on whichever train you choose - there are plenty of seats on every train and the choice of where to sit (would you prefer a corner seat or window seat?), well it is entirely yours!

There is a large free car park (with CCTV), tea room and souvenir shop at Chinnor station.

DEPARTURE TIMES:

Trains depart Chinnor station at 11.00 (steam), 12.15 (vintage diesel), 13.30 (steam), 15.00 (steam) and 16.30 (steam).  Each round trip takes approximately 45-55 minutes duration.
