The Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway are delighted to be supporting a Memorial Train for the late Dennis Howell running on Saturday 20 October 2018.
Dennis Howells, owner of Pannier Tank No. 9466 passed away on 18th August this year while in the process of organising the last main line operation for his engine. Sadly, his friends have had to designate this train as the "Dennis Howells memorial train" which will operate on Saturday 20 October 2018.
The train will operate as follows:
NOTE: ALL times are indicative and not yet confirmed by Network Rail - C&PR can not be held responsible for any errors
The train is being facilitated by West Coast Railways at no cost, assisted by the London Transport Museum and the Chinnor & Princes Risborough and Mid Norfolk Railways on a similar basis and Network Rail in the planning of it.
Tickets are available via the Mid Norfolk Railway’s website (CP&PRR are not responsible for the content of external websites) and ALL profits will be donated to St Luke’s Hospice where Dennis passed away.
If you are unable to travel but wish to donate to St Lukes Hospice, you can either still buy a ticket or donate via JustGiving.
There are 128 seats available on this train priced at £55 which includes a donation to the Hospice.
This was initially being planned by Dennis to be the last main line operation for 9466 so please take this unique chance to travel behind a GWR pannier tank on a classic GWR route on a three-coach branch line train. Dennis worked for 55 years on the railways and was awarded an MBE for his efforts and you can help make this a fitting tribute to him.
