Caledonian Railways 55189

We are very pround to announce the locomotive that makes up the third steam engine at our first ever Steam Gala, running from 13 to 15 September, is Caledonian Railways Class 439, Number 55189.  This is a 'first' for the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway and we hope you will come and ride behind her and watch her in action.

Built by the Caledonian Railway at St Rollox Works, Glasgow, in 1907 and originally numbered 419 she was designed by J.F. Mcintosh for branch line work, fast suburban and banking duties.
