Delights for both young and old. Travelling along the Chiltern foothills with Red Kites whirling overhead and the steam curling lazily past your window is sure to evoke memories of yesteryear for some; but for others, a steam hauled train ride is just a wholly wonderful and completely new travel experience!
Make up a Party of 10 (or more). In our standard open plan seating, there are great rates for groups of 10 or more and better still, larger groups attract even greater savings when you book in advance. We can reserve seats together for you and your party, or you can even book your own carriage depending on how many people are travelling. Jan, our volunteer Catering Manager, will be pleased to discuss her various catering packages with you, including parties for children (and luncheon or tea-boxes made up according to your requirements and age groups, etc).
You could also take advantage of our Restaurant car services, including Afternoon Teas, Ploughman's Lunches and Cream Teas, although these do not attract concessionary or discounted fares.
If you would like to know more, make a booking, or if you simply have an idea in mind that you would like to discuss, then please leave a message on 07718 003133 and we'll get back to you on Monday to Friday (10.00-16.00).
Tour Operators and Coach Companies. We are delighted that an increasing number of tour operators and coach companies are choosing to include a visit to the railway as part of their programme. Whether you want a block of seats reserved, a complete carriage to yourselves, or even to hire a complete train, then we'll be pleased to meet and exceed your expectations. We are pleased to offer our onboard catering packages. If you wish we can discuss Restaurant car services, including Afternoon Teas, Ploughman's Lunches and Cream Teas, although these do not attract concessionary or discounted fares.
Chinnor station is just 3 miles from Junction 6 on the M40 and it is easy to reach, plus we have a large parking area which can easily accommodate coaches. Add to this the gentle 7.5-mile return trip takes approximately 50 minutes and it means a trip on the railway is just about the right length of time to fit in with whatever activities you have planned for the rest of your full-day or half-day tour via the Chilterns.
Please discuss with us and we will agree terms that make your visit both memorable and affordable, for example if you do not differentiate between various age groups when pricing your tours, then we will quote one single lower price. Your tour guide and driver can of course travel free (except on Restaurant car services), or alternatively obtain complimentary refreshments in the Tea Room at Chinnor station. To find out more please leave a message on 07718 003133 and we'll get back to you on Monday to Friday (10.00-16.00).
