Delights for both young and old:
Travelling along the Chiltern foothills with Red Kites whirling overhead and the steam curling lazily past your window is sure to evoke memories of yesteryear for some; but for others, a steam hauled train ride is just a wonderful and completely new travel experience!
Make up a group of 15 or more:
On Standard Days which operate from Mothering Sunday to Hallowe'en we may be able to offer travel concessions or discounted fares for groups of 15 or more when you book in advance. We can reserve seats together for your group, or you may even book your own carriage depending on how many people are travelling. In addition, for Childrens' Birthday Parties we will be pleased to discuss catering party-bags with you.
On Restaurant Car services and on special events such as Santa Steam Specials we welcome groups along and will always try to ensure you are sat together, but please note that are NO discounted fares for these services.
However, for bona-fide groups of 15 or more from Brownies, Cubs and similar organisations wishing to travel on Santa Steam Specials, then we may be able to offer concessions for a limited number of accompanying adults only - please advise organisation details, number of adults and children, date and time etc, and enquire via email HERE.

Tour Operators and Coach Companies:
We are delighted that an increasing number of tour operators and coach companies are choosing to include a visit as part of their programme. Whether you want a block of seats reserved or a complete carriage to yourselves, then we'll be pleased to meet and exceed your expectations. We are pleased to offer additional Boxed Cream Teas served on the train to enhance the journey experience.
Chinnor station is just 3 miles from Junction 6 on the M40 and it is easy to reach, plus we have a large parking area which can easily accommodate coaches. Add to this the gentle 7.5-mile return trip takes approximately 1-hour and it means any visit is just about the right length of time to fit in with whatever activities you have planned for the rest of your full or half-day tour via the Chilterns.
Please discuss arrangements with us so that we can make any visit both memorable and affordable. Your tour guide and driver can of course travel free, or alternatively obtain complimentary refreshments in the Station Cafe at Chinnor station. Charters:
Due to the large number of operating dates we offer to the general public and also to rail industry bodies for staff training and recognising that we are an entirely volunteer run organisation, we cannot deliver charters in 2024, i.e. no extra dates other than those already shown on our calendar. We will always do our utmost to make your visit unique and enjoyable on any publicly advertised operating day.
