Groups & Coach Parties

Group Bookings

What do we offer?

Delights for all ages as you hop aboard our heritage railway and explore the Chilterns. Sit back as our engine slowly chugs out of Chinnor station and continues along the Chiltern foothills. Watch out for the infamous Red Kites whirling overhead and the steam curling lazily past your window. For some, this is sure to evoke memories of yesteryear- while for many of our visitors, a steam hauled train ride is a wholly wonderful and completely new travel experience!

How many people count as a 'group'?

We offer great rates for group bookings of 10 people or more, with even greater savings to be made when you book in advance. Seats together can be reserved for you and your party, or you can even choose to book your very own carriage (depending on how many people are traveling).

Thinking of eating on the train?

You could take advantage of our Afternoon Teas and Ploughman's Lunches; alternatively, our Catering Manager Jan will be pleased to discuss other catering options with you, including children's parties (luncheon or tea-boxes can also be made up according to your requirements and age groups, etc).

If you would like to know more, make a booking, or if you simply have an idea in mind that you would like to discuss, then please leave a message on 07718 003133 and we'll get back to you on Monday to Friday (10.00-16.00).

Tour Operators and Coach Companies

We are delighted that an increasing number of tour operators and coach companies are choosing to include a visit to the railway as part of their programme. Whether you want a block of seats reserved, a carriage to yourselves, or even to hire a complete train, then we'll be pleased to meet and exceed your expectations. We are pleased to offer our onboard catering packages and these include Cream Teas and Ploughman's Lunches.

Getting Here

Chinnor station is just 3 miles from Junction 6 on the M40 and it is easy to reach, plus we have a large parking area which can easily accommodate coaches. Add to this the gentle 7.5-mile return trip takes approximately 50 minutes and it means a trip on the railway is just about the right length of time to fit in with whatever activities you have planned for the rest of your full-day or half-day tour via the Chilterns.

Please discuss with us and we will agree generous terms that make your visit both memorable and affordable (for example if you do not differentiate between various age groups when pricing your tours, then we will quote one single lower price).

Your tour guide and driver can of course travel free, or alternatively obtain complimentary refreshments in the Tea Room at Chinnor station. To find out more please leave a message on 07718 003133 and we'll get back to you on Monday to Friday (10.00-16.00).
