We are aiming to bring back more vintage diesel action along the Chiltern foothlls this spring with some serious ‘Growler’ action and our resident 37227 providing the 'all-day' entertainment on Saturday 8 May 2021.
We understand the feeling of not being able to enjoy haulage of any favourite loco in recent months and therefore we are laying on an intensive timetable with the Growler to enable you to get the most out of your experience with us and play catch up with some mileage accumulation!
As this is an 'all-day' event, you can join the train at Chinnor (for free car parking) or at Princes Risborough (for Chiltern Railways connections). Offering up to SIX round trips on your 'all-day' ticket between Chinnor and Princes Risborough (and up to FIVE round trips if you are joining at Princes Risborough), every ticket will be valid for as many trips as you please in your own reserved seat(s) or compartment for the WHOLE DAY.
Our train seating capacity will, as you may expect, be very much reduced to enable necessary social distancing and all tickets must be booked in advance.
Inevitably, 37227 is subject to availability on the day - but the owners have done all they can to ensure the locomotive is in great working order on the day.

There is FREE car parking at Chinnor station, or you can travel by train to Princes Risborough and cross-over to Platform 4 and join your reserved seats there. Please note that NO tickets are available on the day and they must be booked online and in-advance.
COMPARTMENTS: for your comfort and peace of mind - you can purchase your own Compartment which is for your exclusive use for up to SIX persons for the whole day. A compartment has six seats and is your own self-contained space - which means that once onboard you can close the internal door and then remove your masks.
OPEN-PLAN SEATS: these carriages offer seating around a table for between one and up to four people - unless exempt masks must be worn throughout the journey. To ensure you feel socially distanced and safe, we have blocked the seats adjacent and behind out of use, as shown by the red dots in the image below:
Our ticket prices include your own individual reserved seat for the whole day:

Due to the ongoing restrictions we will have a 'POP-UP' REFRESHMENT STALL on Chinnor station - food and drink can be consumed at the station or taken away from Chinnor when you leave after your trip. Unfortunately, the law does not allow food or drink to be consumed on the train or while standing. We ask for your co-operation in these still exceptional times and to please help us to help keep everyone safe and well - thank you.
We will be serving Teas, Coffees, Cakes, Crisps, Shortbread, Coke & Diet Coke, Apple & Orange Juice Cartons, Bottled Water etc. In addition we will have a selection of Sandwiches and Bacon, Sausage, Veggie Baps etc., all freshly made on request. Payment by the 'new normal' of Contactless Card is greatly appreciated.
FOR YOUR ADDED SAFETY AND ENJOYMENT PLEASE SEE HOW WE FOLLOW GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY COVID-19 GUIDELINES. WE HAVE PROCESSES IN PLACE TO MAINTAIN CLEANLINESS AND AID SOCIAL DISTANCING - WE'RE GOOD TO GO
Inevitably, our traction is subject to availability - but the owners of 37227 have recently done a great deal of work to ensure the locomotive is in great working order and we have carried out intensive load-testing and Jamie, our Ops Director, is very pleased with the results.
All ages must buy a ticket to receive an allocated seat. However, up to TWO additional under 5-yrs may travel free of charge as part of your family group / bubble, however they will NOT be allocated any individual seat.
We also welcome well-behaved pet dogs, who can travel for free, but not on seats - please bring a blanket or similar for them to sit on - thank you.
Please note that Government Covid-Secure regulations require the wearing of a face covering when using public transport - including on the station platform, when boarding the train, and when travelling in Open-plan seats. Various exemptions include children under the age of 11 - but if in doubt please refer to the regulations.
