Relive the nostalgia of heritage steam and enjoy the elegance of dining on board with a leisurely Christmas Festive Luncheon. Your experience begins with a warm welcome from our attentive volunteer stewards who will serve you a complimentary drink followed by a traditional two-course Christmas luncheon at your comfortable seat during the journey.
Hauled by our classic steam locomotive and one of our mainline vintage diesel locomotives, the Christmas luncheon train departs Chinnor station on Monday 06 December 2021 at 12:25 and returns between 14.30-14.45. You will enjoy two return trips along the Chiltern foothills - with winter views opening-up to Whiteleaf Cross and the Vale of Aylesbury in the distance.
A complimentary glass of house red or white wine or an alternative bottle of Chinnor Ale is served at the start of the journey - or orange or apple juice if you prefer.
Roast Turkey with Roast Potatoes, New Potatoes, Sage and Onion Stuffing, Bacon-wrapped Chipolatas, Carrots, Peas, Brussel Sprouts, Gravy and Cranberry Sauce.
Cheese and Parsnip Roulade (V) with Roast Potatoes, New Potatoes, Carrots, Peas, Brussel Sprouts and vegetarian Gravy.

Seats are available in tables of two or three in our open seating carriages with menu choices and full payment required at the time of booking. There are also a small number of private compartments available for groups of 4 people (these cannot be offered to groups larger than 4). The Christmas luncheon service can only be boarded at Chinnor station.
No concessions or discounts are available on this service.
We regret we are unable to cater for any dietary requirements other than vegetarian.
There is also a service of additional paid-for wines, beers and non-alcoholic drinks available during the journey. In line with usual restaurant practice, customers are asked not to bring their own drinks.
Please book early as we have only 50 seats available and we expect these to sell out quickly.
There is free car parking and a souvenir shop at Chinnor station. We recommend you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure and plan ahead for roadworks or disruptions on your journey to Chinnor as regrettably we cannot wait for late arrivals.
You will be able to transfer your tickets to an equivalent service on another date (where available) or transfer the value of your booking to a Gift Certificate to use at a future date if either a) Government restrictions mean we cannot operate the service/event, or that you are not permitted to travel to the Railway or b) You or a member of your party test positive for Covid-19 or are required to self-isolate and you notify us on 07979 055366 at least 24-hours prior to departure of your booked train service. If you have symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in contact with someone who has then you MUST NOT attend the Railway.
All of our other usual booking terms remain unchanged.
In the event that our Steam locomotive is unavailable, for whatever reason, the train will be be hauled by one of our Vintage Diesels and no refunds will be applicable. All services depart from Chinnor only.
We recommend that customers wear face coverings when boarding or moving around the train.
