Be one of the lucky people to join our steam crew for a special trip on our Sentinel loco.
Locomotive 7109, nicknamed Joyce is a unique, preserved Sentinel industrial steam locomotive from 1927, famous for its distinctive vertical boiler and chain drive.
After extensive restoration and back to full working order, she's now a resident at our Railway.
Under the friendly guidance of one of our experienced driving instructors we are confident you will have a great time! Your session will begin with a safety briefing, followed by a familiarisation session to show how Joyce works and the operation of the controls. Each trip will give around 20 minutes of driving time at the controls around Princes Risborough station area.
Our expert and highly experienced driver and fireman will be also pleased to answer your questions.
With a day rover ticket you can start your adventure from either our Chinnor or Princes Risborough station.

Unused slots on the day may be able to be booked from the Princes Risborough booking office.
THE PARTICIPANT MUST:
1. Be aged 18 years or over
2. Be reasonably fit and in good health
3. Wear old clothing that fully covers the arms and legs
4. Wear sturdy shoes or boots that protect the feet - trainers are not permitted
5. Not travel in the cab under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Price
Joyce driver experience - £99.00 which includes your day rover travel ticket and a bacon bap and a drink at the Chinnor cafe.
The ride is for one adult participant aged 18 years or over and no other guests are allowed on the footplate.
Booking information
On arrival at your chosen station, please make yourself known to the Stationmaster, who will run through the procedure for joining your experience. They will escort you to the engine and introduce you to the driver and fireman.
Please note that the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway reserves the right to reschedule any driver experience or refuse entry for whatever reason.
