Only one lucky person on selected dates can join our diesel crew from an observer perspective for an approximately 1-hour long round trip.
The journey includes some arduous work by our vintage diesel locomotive including the 1 in 68 banks, and you will see everything from the driving-end and experience the sights and 'growl' of a vintage diesel!
Our expert and highly experienced driver and secondman will be pleased to answer your questions and show you various points of interest during the journey.
Please note that you will NOT be invited to touch any of the controls and you will NOT be driving the locomotive - this experience is to purely observe the diesel locomotive and crew in action whilst travelling with them in the cab.

Booking information
THE PARTICIPANT MUST
1. Be aged 18 years and over
2. Be reasonably fit and in good health - fit enough to climb on and off the locomotive unaided
3. Be able to stand on the locomotive footplate for the approximately 1-hour round-trip
4. Wear old clothing that fully covers the arms and legs
5. Wear sturdy shoes or boots that protect your feet - trainers are not permitted
6. Not travel in the cab under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Please note that the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway reserves the right to reschedule any Diesel Cab Observer Experience or refuse entry for whatever reason. We are unable to guarantee any particular class of locomotive and the experiences is sold on the understanding that a replacement may be necessary at the last-minute. There is a maximum of one participant per ride and no other guests are allowed in the cab.
