Rock Around the Chilterns

The Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway regrets that it is being forced to cancel all services on Mothering Sunday due to circumstances completely beyond its control.  We will give an update on when we can operate services again, as soon as we have more information.

The Chilterns enjoy a vibrant local heritage and its landscape provides a stunning backdrop to the Icknield Line.

We have joined up with the Chilterns Conservation Board to run unique themed days on 23 May, 13 June, 4 July & 15 August. Journeys will be led by local experts telling the story of the landscape we are travelling through and much more - local crafts people will be running interactive events at Chinnor and there will be conducted walks from the station. Full details to follow nearer the time!

23 May - Heritage Crafts in the Chilterns
Learn how heritage crafts and industries developed in the landscape.

13 June - Fruit in the Chilterns
On our Cherry Pie Day explore the history of local orchards.

4 July - Chalk in the Chilterns
See how Geology has shaped the Chilterns in the past & present. In addition Princes Risborough North Signalbox will also be open for viewing from 10.00-16.00.

15 August - Landscape in the Chilterns
Explore how land use has changed the Chiltern landscape.

This immersive experience will be a great family day out and with Kids-for-a-Quid, it will be afordable too. What's more your Day-Rover ticket is valid for unlimited travel throughout the day.

Also, if you are looking for something more to do whilst in Chinnor then see our 'Stroll Around Chinnor Village' which guide includes links to the Wee Bookshop and The Village Centre for food and drink, or local pubs for Bar/Restaurant meals; or say visit the local Church or other places that may be of interest.
