The Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway regrets that it is being forced to cancel all services on Mothering Sunday due to circumstances completely beyond its control. We will give an update on when we can operate services again, as soon as we have more information.
It's our fabulous Titfer Day (Cockney rhyming slang for hat) and when you wear any sort of hat on 7 June then Adults and Children travel at HALF-PRICE!
Early June is generally a good time to visit the Railway as there are plenty of seats available to spread out and enjoy the journey. En route you might spot some of our local wildlife such as Muntjac deer, pheasants and hares; and it is rather rare not to see any of our ubiquitous Red Kites whirling overhead.
Take all the Family back in time with steam and heritage diesel trains on The Icknield Line as you gently travel along the foot of the Chiltern Hills between Princes Risborough and Chinnor. Sit back in comfortable seats and relax with our all-day unlimited Rover Tickets. Enjoy an at-seat service of reasonably priced drinks and light refreshments from the 10.45 departure onwards too.
All the while your steam locomotive is lazily billowing out steam past your window or the vintage diesel is growling its way along the line - you might spot some of our local wildlife too and it is rather rare not to see the Red Kites whirling overhead. Take a look at our Journey Guide for more information.
Make a day of it in the Chilterns
If you are looking for something more to do on Mothering Sunday see our page on Princes Risborough, or the Stroll Around Chinnor Village Guide which includes links to the Wee Bookshop and The Village Centre for food and drink, various Bar/Restaurant meals in local pubs, or visit the local Church, and the guide also lists other places that may be of interest.
If you are visiting the Chilterns area by car - then we also have a number of local attractions within 15-minutes or less drive time, or slightly further afield please take a look at Visit Buckinghamshire or Experience Oxfordshire for a host of other ideas for your perfect day out!
Also, why not make several trips along the line - as your Rover Tickets are valid all day long.

You can buy your Rover Tickets online (sometimes it can work out cheaper) and then upon your arrival at the Railway go directly to the train, having the ticket already printed or on a mobile device. Rover tickets are available for a fixed date only and you do not have to book for a specific train time. Alternatively, just visit us on Titfer Day to buy tickets from our station ticket offices - we also issue full price tickets at the station for those who prefer not to wear a hat. Also one-way tickets are available for those making a single journey (not available online - please enquire for details).
If you are thinking of buying your tickets in advance please see our Terms and Conditions:
We are unable to issue exchanges or refunds after a purchase has been made or for lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed tickets. If you are unsure whether you will travel then you can purchase your travel tickets on the day.
If you would like to make several trips up and down the line, or even stay all day, then you are welcome to do so (your tickets are valid for unlimited journeys on the day shown for travel).
