Bodywork repairs with a difference! This article focuses on our Carriage and Wagon Department. As the name suggests, it’s responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of our stock of nine carriages and innumerable goods wagons. You could help keep our carriages in the best condition to carry our many passengers, as well as the wagons needed by our permanent way team in maintaining our tracks. Many of the skills required to do this work are acquired as we go along. Training is provided but even rudimentary DIY skills come in very handy. Basic carpentry, a knowledge of plumbing, skill with a paint brush, a spanner or an oil can all come in useful. The team meet on a Tuesday & Saturday at Chinnor and, should you join us, you will enjoy working with a cheerful group of people from all walks of life.
