Our Children’s Leaflets and Activities Group (CLAG) is run by our volunteer John and he aims to entertain children during their visit. Our PULL & PUSH Railway is designed to let a child’s imagination transport them to becoming train drivers - delivering goods to stations, harbour and depot.
John is always looking for DBS qualified helpers to oversee the layout by encouraging children to keep their trains on the track; travel around in a clockwise direction; transport the ‘goods’ items; not crash(!) and encourage them to talk about what they see and do.
Even if you help once or twice a month, this would be a rewarding role especially when you see the smiling children and happy adults! Note that children are not left unaccompanied and their parent or guardian stays with them at all times.
