Do you like to work hard and play hard? Then our Friday Gang invite you to join them! Started several years ago to help rebuild Platform 4 at Risborough, they turned their attention to various other tasks that needed doing at the Princes Risborough end of the Railway - they've been there ever since!
On Fridays a team of up to 10 will turn up. They're an eclectic mix (!) and between them can turn their hands to almost anything, so come and help them doing Track Relaying Machine repairs; groundworks; independent line construction; crossing repairs; signal box maintenance; weedkilling; with repeated vegetation cutting a speciality, allegedly... Don't even mention painting! Occasionally they venture further afield to that far distant land called Chinnor.
After a day at the Railway they can often be found in The Bird in Hand PH, Station Rd, Risborough from 16.00 onwards. As one of the team, you may fancy joining them in a well-earned pint of real ale but it’s certainly not compulsory!
