Poisons For Medicine - Talk with Day Rover & Mini Cream Teas in the Train Restaurant:

Poisons For Medicine - Victorian Pharmacists and Quack Doctors: an entertaining talk given by Graham of Sun Jester. A darkly humorous look at medicine in the 19th Century - the reign of Queen Victoria saw the development of chemical medicine, from medieval alchemy to modern pharmacy. Chemists lent their ingenuity to provide anything their customers wanted. Some made fortunes, some made disastrous mistakes! (Talk not suitable for young children.)

Our combined Day Rover Ticket and Mini Cream Tea in a box served on the 16.00 departure from Chinnor followed by an entertaining talk in the station marquee on Poisons For Medicine - Victorian Pharmacists and Quack Doctors, could be the perfect opportunity for a relaxing half-day out on 07 July!

You can travel on all Red Timetable train services throughout the day (or on as many as you choose!) and then enjoy a traditional Mini Cream Tea in a box served at your reserved seats in the Train Restaurant departing from Chinnor station at 16.00 hours, afterwards the approximately one-hour talk by Graham ending around 18.15 hours will round out your visit!
