Broni & Graham will provide live music and entertainments at intervals throughout the day in Chinnor station marquee!
We will be running trains on Sunday 11 May which is our closest train operating day to the 80th Anniversary of VE Day. Travel back in time with friends and family and perhaps wear an item of clothing from the period for that extra-authentic feeling (and children of course love dressing up to get closer to the experience!); or simply come as you are and enjoy your visit. Share in the story and educate the younger generation about the significance of VE Day 80 years ago:
- Our pay-once-stay-all-day tickets will be issued at regular published prices, plus accompanied children 3-15 yrs go for just £1 (and 0-2 yrs travel Free)
- Broni & Graham will provide live music and entertainments at intervals throughout the day (until 15.45) in Chinnor station marquee
- Pre-book a delicious Ploughman's Lunch or Trio-of-Scones / Cream Tea experience to enjoy in the Restaurant Car on the train (please book early as seats are limited)
- The Station Cafe at Chinnor will be serving 1940s-style treats and refreshments - who remembers spam sandwiches!

When you come for a 'big train ride' with younger children then be sure to pop into Chinnor station marquee - where our dedicated volunteers John and Jack from the Children’s Leaflets & Activities Group have a great area for families to enjoy (until 15.45); including their fantastic ‘Pull & Push’ children’s play railway layout, ideal for kids aged 3–7 years.
Although we will make every effort to provide the services shown and ensure that steam locomotives are available, we cannot guarantee this.
