We welcome all visitors to the Railway, including those who are less able and need the help of a carer or assistance dog.
Level access suitable for wheelchairs is avialable using the directions below to use the side-gate to the platform near the station building (OX39 4ER).

Please drive slowly,as children often play in the area.
Whilst parking is not generally allowed on this privately-owned road, you can drop passengers off at the side-gate and then retrace your route and park up in the main station car park. You can return via the same route at the end of your visit.
Passengers who are less able are encouraged to call general enquiries on 07979 055366 (10.00 - 16.00) before travelling, or speak with the Duty Line Manager on arrival at Chinnor station. We can then ensure that the gate from old Station Approach road is open.
Toilet facilities for disabled visitors are available at Chinnor station.
Station services including car parking and facilities (lifts, toilet facilities, etc) are all provided by Chiltern Railways - except that the heritage line provides a separate ticket office located on Platform 4, where you can book tickets to travel to and from Chinnor on days when the heritage line is running trains.
For Chiltern Railways Accessible Travel and car parking information please see here. Or for information on Chiltern Railways station facilities please see their Princes Risborough Station Guide here.

Access to all the heritage coaching stock we use is by means of some steps, which are about 250mm (10 inches) in height. The majority of the doors have access to handles and grab locations, enabling passengers to hold on while boarding and alighting.
We have some additional steps, shown below, which can be deployed by our station staff to help bridge the gap and also reduce the height. Please speak to a member of staff on the platform if you require this assistance.

Due to limited space, we can only accomodate one wheelchair user per steam hauled journey for travel in the Guard's brakevan. Here you will find a table at a window and non-slip flooring, plus a chair for one carer. Access is via a ramp and it is your responsibility for boarding safely using the ramp.
Alternatively, if you are in a wheelchair but you can step aboard and move to a seat (via the narrow connecting doors of our heritage vehicles), then your wheelchair can be left on the platform at Chinnor by the booking office.
Toilets with disabled access are NOT available on the train due to the age and historic construction of the coaches.
A visually impaired person or one whose disability necessitates a carer are only available at station ticket offices on the day of travel.
Wheelchair reservations have to be booked in advance, either online, calling 07979-055366 (10.00-16.00) or emailing enquiries@chinnorrailway.co.uk
