This is a role where you would be working closely with our visitors – our train-based catering steward team. On standard running days we pass through the train welcoming our visitors with a smile, making sure they have their choice of hot or cold drinks as well as snacks and treats from the trolley.
On our dining days when we’re serving our cream teas or ploughman’s lunches we prepare and lay out the tables ready for our diners. As well as serving the food and drink, during the trip we engage with visitors and tell tales and anecdotes about the history of the line and the surrounding countryside. We are often asked to take photos on visitor’s mobile phones, creating lasting memories of their time with us. When our train arrives back at Chinnor and our visitors leave, the team re-lay the dining area ready for the next service.
