In celebration of the upcoming public opening of Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway's Independent Line over the weekend of July 5th/6th the Railway held a VIP Day on June 27th attended by local councillors and guests including representatives from Network Rail, Chiltern Railways, Colas and special guest Lady Judy McAlpine who has taken on the position of President of the C&PRR.
The day included a ceremonial tape breaking by the first train ( consisting of passenger stock ) ever to traverse the independent line, followed by a return run to Chinnor on which tea and cakes were served. The day was a huge success and was shortly followed by the public opening on July 5th from which date all public trains now run via the Independent Line.
