Wear any Hat & GO HALF-PRICE

It's our fabulous TITFER DAY! (Cockney rhyming slang for hat) and when you WEAR ANY SORT OF HAT on 06 October then Adults and Children travel at HALF-PRICE!

You can also reserve 'Elevenses' in the Cafe Car on the 11.00 departure for an extra special treat and we still have seats available for delicious Cream Teas on the 16.30 from Chinnor - but once they're gone - they're gone!

Early October is generally a good time to visit the railway as there are plenty of seats available to spread out and enjoy the journey. En route you might spot some of our local wildlife such as Muntjac deer, pheasants and hares; and it is rather rare not to see any of our ubiquitous Red Kites whirling overhead.

All the while your steam locomotive is lazily billowing steam past your window or the vintage diesel is growling along the line between Chinnor and Princes Risborough and return. A through the train catering trolley begins on the 11.00 from Chinnor and will offer throughout the day an at-seat service of paid-for teas, coffees, light refreshments and snacks. With lovely views gradually opening out to Whiteleaf Cross and the Vale of Aylesbury in the distance, plus the Red Kites often whirling overhead, it is surely going to be the perfect autumnal treat.

As part of the Chiltern's walking Festival there is a pre-bookable 2-hour circular walk, exploring Chinnor's industrial and natural heritage via the Ridgeway national trail. The distance is 4-miles and the walk is fairly easy (some gentle inclines, steps/stiles). You MUST BOOK in advance for the walk as the number of places is limited and you will need to buy a ticket for the steam railway, departing Princes Risborough at 11.35. To find out more and to book your place(s) on the walk see 'Steam, Kilns and Kites on the Ridgeway' please.

If you are looking for something more to do whilst in Chinnor then see our guide 'Stroll Around Chinnor Village' which includes links to the Wee Bookshop and The Village Centre for food and drink, ditto Bar/Restaurant meals in local pubs, or say visit the Windmill (generally open first and third Sunday in the month) or the local Church, and the guide also lists other places that may be of interest.

Why not make several trips along the line, as your travel tickets are valid all day long!
