Find out more about Volunteering - Drop-in Day at Chinnor station:

Drop-in at Chinnor station between 11.00 and 16.00 on Sunday 25 February 2024 and meet several of our volunteer team over a cuppa - we will be delighted to chat about what our volunteers get up to and discuss roles that could be yours!

You do not need to have any previous experience to volunteer with us and all we ask is that you are positive and enthusiastic, take pride in what you do and you can work as part of a team. Whatever your skills or interests we are always in need of more help; from catering and retail, operating the train services to rolling stock maintenance, helping with trackwork or assisting with running events, tending the flower beds or answering the 'phone, the list is endless and there is a role for you!

Our volunteers are of all ages from 16 years upwards and from many different backgrounds. Some are at university, some have retired, some help out several days each week, whilst for others it might be a couple of hours per month, some even take their holidays working on the Railway. Note that certain operational roles have a minimum age of 18 due to their safety critical nature.

The aim of our Drop-in Day is for anyone who has wondered whether they could help in some way, to come along and talk to us. We will give you an idea of the range of activities needed to keep the Railway operational and explain how you can get involved: there’s no commitment on those who attend, just the opportunity to find out more and whether you might be interested in taking that first small step of volunteering with us? We look forward to seeing you!

P.S. You may also wish to take a look at our Volunteer Leaflet Page 1 and Page 2.

Please note NO trains will be operating on 25 February 2024!
