Santa Steam Specials: all aboard!
29, 30 November, 6, 7, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22 December 2025
Our steam engine USA Class S160 will be hauling our trains on Sunday and Monday 28, 29 December and again on Thursday and Sunday 1, 4 January 2026. You can join the trains at either Chinnor or Princes Risborough stations and then sit back, relax and enjoy the winter panorama alongside the Chiltern Hills. As the lovely views open out with the Vale of Aylesbury stretching into the distance, you may spot deer or other local wildlife including the Red Kites overhead. For further information please see our Journey Guide.
From the shop end of Chinnor station platform take a gentle stroll through the Light Walk to enlighten your day with the visual excitement of lively lights and stimulating sounds of memorable music to make your Winter Warmer visit one to remember.

… Then it’s full steam ahead to enjoy watching the WINTER WONDERLAND Model Railway with its new double track in action. You will see trains heading in opposite directions making this even more interesting than last year. Jack and John are intending to run over twenty battery powered trains. The steam engines with tenders like James, Henry and Gordon will be as busy as usual. ‘BoCo’, based on a British Rail Class 28 diesel-electric engine, and ‘Nia’, a tank engine from the African country of Kenya, are just two of our new guests… there are others!

Aerial shot taken by Harold the Helicopter with Henry slowing down at WINTER WONDERLAND Station and James rushing along believing that he is an EXPRESS train!
Oh yes!The tank engines Thomas, Percy and Sir Handel along with many other Thomas’ friends will be there to entertain you, too.
Please note that this display is not set up like PULL & PUSH but it should be interesting to watch our special rolling stock on the move. The SPIRAL Model Railway will be on show, too. Jack and John are members of the Children’s Leaflets and Activities Group (CLAG) and we will take this opportunity in wishing you a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
